چکیده

the date of receipt and acceptance should be inserted later Abstract. Possible forsterite nanoparticle model of the Extended Red Emission(ERE) is proposed on the basis of photo-luminescence of forsterite after gamma-ray and neutron irradiation. Forsterite exhibits interesting thermoluminescence spectrum similar to ERE of Red Rectangle after irradiation in low temperature. It is shown that the forsterite after thermoluminescence is over exhibits photo-luminescence(PL) when Ultraviolet ray is irradiated. The structure of PL spectrum is almost similar to that of thermoluminescence. In order to explain small variations of the peak position of wavelength of ERE spectrum, possible nanoparticle model of forsterite is investigated. Our model is consistent to the ISO observation data in near and middle infrared region, which suggest the existence of forsterite.

In-situ synthesis and characterization of reduced graphene oxide –Ag nanocomposites

Reduced graphene oxide(rGO)–silver(Ag) nanocomposites have been prepared by using solution based facile one-pot synthesis process. The reaction process involves high-temperature liquid-phase exfoliation of graphite oxide and silver acetate in presence of N-N’dimethylformamide (DMF) solvent, resulting in simultaneous formation of rGO as well as Ag nanoparticles. Different nanocomposites have bee...

Extended Red Emission: Photoluminescence by Interstellar Nanoparticles

Interstellar dust in nebulae and in the diffuse interstellar medium of galaxies contains a component which responds to illumination by ultraviolet photons with efficient luminescence in the 500 nm to 1000 nm spectral range, known as Extended Red Emission (ERE). We review the techniques of detection and the observational characteristics of the ERE in a wide range of astrophysical environments. W...

Luminescence in Sulfides: A Rich History and a Bright Future

Sulfide-based luminescent materials have attracted a lot of attention for a wide range of photo-, cathodoand electroluminescent applications. Upon doping with Ce 3+ and Eu 2+ , the luminescence can be varied over the entire visible region by appropriately choosing the composition of the sulfide host. Main application areas are flat panel displays based on thin film electroluminescence, field em...

PHOTO AND ELECTROLUMINESCENCE STUDY PHOSPHOR PREPARED BY DIFFERENT METHODS OF ZNS:CU

ZnS : Cu phosphors were prepared by using laboratory grade chemicals through coprecipitating Cu along with ZnS using H2S and thiourea. Photo- and electroluminescence studies indicate that these phosphors have better emission characteristics compared to the phosphors in which activator is externally added. Phosphors with luminescence at ~530nrn were prepared. The difference between the character...
